Description
LBBC Group is an engineering company comprising four distinct, but co-located, operating divisions. To support growth and efficient operations, the company plans to digitalize part of its operations and implement an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. This Accelerated Knowledge Transfer (AKT) will serve as a scoping project to define digital transformation for LBBC and the application for a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) to implement digitalisation.
Research overview
This project, funded by Innovate UK (AKT2I), aims to review the plethora of existing business information systems used by LBBC Group companies in order to develop the scope and requirements of a much larger company-wide digital transformation project that will significantly improve productivity. In this project, Professor Chee Yew Wong and AKT associate Xi Chen will work with LBBC company to develop the requirement and scope for a digital transformation project and ERP implementation.
About the research team
Professor Chee Yew Wong is a professor of supply chain management and director of the Centre for Operations & Supply Chain Research (COSCR)at Leeds University Business School. His research helps organizations and supply chains to develop information processing capacity. Associate Professor Jyoti Mishra will support this project based on her research on using digital technologies for the circular economy. Xi Chen graduated from Leeds University Business School’s MBA programme. Xi was a Senior Operation Specialist at Baidu, a Customer service department manager at China Mobile and China Unicom, and a Chinese Medtech start-up co-founder and operational director.
