As part of Complex and Open Innovation for Networked Society (COINS) project, my research will use the telecommunications industry, particularly the case of Ericsson, to understand how a large established firm reconfigure its resources to pursue new growth opportunities. My research will focus on reconfiguration activities in which firms modify their resource base by leveraging, recombining, and redeploying resources as an effort to pursue new market opportunities. Specifically, my research will aim to answer two research questions: (1) How resource reconfiguration strategy evolve along firm’s expansion to a new market? and (2)What is the role of managers and firms’ strategic assets in resource reconfiguration?
