On 7 December Associate Professor in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management, Dr Ian Greenwood, spoke to BBC 5 Live following the announcement that Unions have secured a commitment from Tata to invest in the future of jobs and production at Port Talbot and other steel plants across the UK.
In the interview Dr Greenwood discusses the the future of the steel industry and its need for a strategic mindset from both the industry and particularly the UK government.
He comments: "Greg Clarke [UK Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy] seems as if he believes in an industrial strategy for foundation industries such as steel and within that framework I think the future of the blast furnace production in the UK could be quite positive."
