It is hard to deny that we are living in the age of disruption, defined broadly as fundamental changes that re-order the way in which organizations and their business environments operate to create and appropriate value. Innovation management academics and practicing managers have always been intrigued by discontinuous change and creative destruction of old products, services and business models being replaced by the new one.
This unique event combines an advanced doctoral training with insightful conversation between academics with an interest investigating organizational responses to disruptive change and senior innovation managers from companies that navigate ever-changing technological, competitive and institutional landscape. The event is equally valuable for doctoral students and junior faculty with the interest in innovation management as well as practitioners curious in learning from experienced innovation and established academics.
The training day is predominantly focused on advanced research training for doctoral students and junior faculty. Professor Raghu Garud (Penn State), Professor Davide Ravasi (Cass Business School), Dr Criscoulo Paula (Imperial College) and Dr Keyvan Vakili (London Business School) will share their experience with designing research that has been published in the top management journals. Each session will be designed around a particular paper (sent to delegates in advance), which will enable intensive discussion and sharing of valuable experience. The day will conclude with roundtable discussions. Professor Krsto Pandza (University of Leeds) and Saeed Khanagha (Ericsson AB) will moderate the activities on the day.
