On 9 March 2017, the International Business Division was delighted to welcome representatives from the MSc International Business class of 2014 for a two-day reunion event at the University.
This year, the division are piloting an International Business Mentoring Scheme, linking current students with recent graduates. 13 members of the current MSc International Business cohort were matched with alumni who can offer valuable tips and career advice for life after Leeds University Business School.
During the event, there was plenty opportunity for the 42 alumni to network during seminars and workshops led by professors and external employability experts. Divisional staff joined the group at the Queen’s Hotel for a celebratory dinner, where all had the chance to reunite with old friends and staff members.
Dr Surender Munjal, Programme Director of MSc International Business, hosted the event, and commented that the dinner "was a great evening, everyone thoroughly enjoyed it"
Andy Smith, Professional Development Tutor and Deputy Programme Director of MSc International Business said "After the meal, our Alumni took it upon themselves to deliver a number of heart-warming and emotional speeches about the fond memories of Leeds and their appreciation at being invited back to reminisce with old faculty members and classmates alike. This was a fitting ending to an extraordinary event that was enjoyed by all."
The event was thoroughly enjoyed by alumni, current students and staff… there’s already mention of a second get together in the near future!
