Complex decision making is a fundamental part of engineering design. Technical requirements for complex decision making change as the design process proceeds. The process spans a spectrum of engineering information from systems perspectives where options for products are proposed and design decisions include, e.g., making trade-offs between a lighter option and a cheaper one, and physical perspectives where decisions related to the selection of shapes and materials are made.In this seminar, Neil will discuss complex decision making tools and challenges in Rolls-Royce and his work to improve complex decision making processes and tools to enable innovation and delivery of competitive products....
