Ideas in Practice is a free seminar series bringing together business people, policymakers and academics.
The events take place in Leeds, London and online, where we discuss important topics and share ideas to help companies and public bodies both in the UK and globally.

Global Perspectives on Labour, Climate Policy and Just Transition
Please note that this is a hybrid conference, hosted at the Representation of the State of Lower Saxony, Rue Montoyer 61, Brussels.
This conference will present research findings from unions' Just Transition policies and initiatives across 14 countries worldwide from a multi-year research project, and offers a space for discussing policy learnings from international experience.
Led by Leeds University Business School’s Professor Vera Trappmann, the results represent the efforts of 20 researchers from 12 institutions, with funding from the Hans Böckler Foundation. The Foundation is also our proud partner for Global Perspectives on Labour; Climate Policy and Just Transition.

Enhancing Multilateral Development Banks' Local Currency Financing

This webinar will examine local currency financing practices by multilateral development banks (MDBs), including legal, regulatory, currency and credit risk challenges, and will offer targeted policy recommendations to strengthen MDBs’ local currency financing capacities.
The findings presented are from an extensive study led by Professor Annina Kaltenbrunner, with funding provided by the Multilateral Development Bank Challenge Fund.
AI Meets Medicine: Strategies, Start-ups and Corporate Innovation

We will discuss the regulatory frameworks shaping medical AI innovation and the efficacy of these technologies for customers, regulators and investors.
This is a follow-up event to Professor Krsto Pandza and Visiting Professor Hutan Ashrafian’s 2023 Leadership for Digital Innovation in Medtech. Together, with funding from Leeds University Business School, they will present updated research into business and technological innovations supporting developments in bitotech and medtech fields.
‘Ideas in Practice’ Supply Chain Summit 2024: Collaboration, social value and sustainability in complex supply chains

In its eighth year, the Supply Chain Summit 2024 will investigate how managing complex supply chains is increasingly vital in achieving cross-sector social value and sustainability goals.
Leeds University Business School (LUBS) is partnering with the Institute for Collaborative Working (ICW) to deliver this full-day summit. Research collated for an upcoming collaboration playbook between LUBS and the ICW, spearheaded by Dr Chee Yew Wong and David Loseby, Visiting Professor of Research Impact, will be revealed.
