Tell us about your degree - why did you choose it? What elements of the degree inspired you to study it?
I chose my degree as I always had a love for all things finance and investment. I’ve also had a very deep interest in mutual funds and saw a future in working in that industry
What was the best part of your studies here? What did you enjoy the most?
Meeting like minded people who have the same interests as me
What were your career aspirations when you arrived? Do you think the experience and skills you gained here will help/helped you in your future career plans? In what way?
When I arrived I didn’t have a clear idea of what I wanted to do. However, thanks to being able to chose some of my courses I was able to learn and gain skills that would help me in the future e.g. I chose the professional portfolio management course which helped me secure a job in investment management
How has your career progressed since leaving the Business School? Have there been any notable highlights?
I got accepted into an investment management internship at Morgan Stanley which then lead me to becoming a full time employee there

What are your ambitions for the future?
To become a portfolio manager
Do you think your experience and skills gained here will help you in your future career plans? In what way?
Yes. University has taught me a lot about finance, but also about the importance of socialising and networking, which are skills that are paramount in my industry
If you are not from the UK, how was the transition to a foreign country? Did the university offer support or services that you found helpful? Can you offer any advice?
Yes. University was very supportive in handling the verification processes back in my home country and were very swift in doing so
What was your impression/experience of the facilities, the staff, your peers, the student union, the City of Leeds and the region itself? What would you recommend to future students?
The university had excellent staff and facilities. Leeds is a very beautiful and accommodating city and I would recommend students to enjoy everything it has to offer
What would you say is your defining memory of studying here? (eg friendships made, confidence in your abilities, or any single event that you will always remember?) And would you recommend the Business School to others?
