Tell us about your degree - why did you choose it? What elements of the degree inspired you to study it?
I chose to study Management to expand my knowledge in making rational decisions and broaden my understanding of how effective decisions are made.

What was the best part of your studies here? What did you enjoy the most?
The student life at Leeds. I really enjoyed traveling to the UK and exploring its lovely cities. The diversity, acceptance, and unity between students and the people are very joyful too.

What were your career aspirations when you arrived? Do you think the experience and skills you gained here will help/helped you in your future career plans? In what way?
Yes, of course, my programme helped me a lot in discovering what I really want and reshaped my ideas. After few months after joining the programme, my perspective about many things started to change, including my future career plans. My programme helped me navigate my self-discovery.

How has your career progressed since leaving the Business School? Have there been any notable highlights?
Opportunities, and more opportunities. I received an overwhelming amount of opportunities, more than I ever have after graduating from the University of Leeds.

What are your ambitions for the future?
Build my own business. Throughout my programme, I learned how to start and manage a business in an effective way. Many modules helped build my courage to create my own start-up and taught me how to create opportunities. My ambition is to make my own business in the future.

Do you think your experience and skills gained here will help you in your future career plans? In what way?
Whether I succeed in starting my own business or stay working in a job, I am sure that the skills I have gained from my programme will be beneficial. For instance, I am sure that critical thinking, research, and effective decision-making skills will all be as useful in my future career plans as they are in my daily life.

If you are not from the UK, how was the transition to a foreign country? Did the university offer support or services that you found helpful? Can you offer any advice?
Leeds felt like home from the first day I stepped into it. People are unbelievably nice and chill. The university arranged my transportation from Manchester Airport to Leeds and thanks to that, I made a friend from day 1 that I still talk to today. My advice is, to go out there and talk to people, make friends, and have the best time of your life as a UOL student. Trust me, it is more like a family in Leeds rather than just a university experience. You will feel home away from home.

What was your impression/experience of the facilities, the staff, your peers, the student union, the City of Leeds and the region itself? What would you recommend to future students?
The Leeds University Union is one of the loveliest facilities on-campus. Be sure to get the most benefit from it and join one of their lovely monthly activities, you won't regret it. The libraries are very cosy, so just wander around them until you find the perfect spot to study. The campus is very well-located in the city centre and it is literally part of the city itself. Having a 24/7 area with CCTV and security on-site is just great.

What would you say is your defining memory of studying here? (eg friendships made, confidence in your abilities, or any single event that you will always remember?) And would you recommend the Business School to others?
Definitely, friendships made.
