How did you hear about the Business School and why did you choose to study here?
I chose to study at Leeds University Business School because of its reputation and ranking of my course. International Business at Leeds is a great course with a wider range of topics covered during the degree. The staff have excellent teaching experience and the school develops our soft and hard business skills. There are always events to develop professional skills like team building and presentation skills.
What is the best part of your studies? What are you enjoying the most?
I am enjoying the access to a wide range of knowledge through my professors as well as resources. I have also attended conferences and guest lectures.
What are your career aspirations? Do you think the experience and skills you will gain on your course will help you in your future career plans? In what way?
I am planning to pursue a career in consulting and I believe the skills and knowledge I gained as a student at Leeds University Business School will help me achieve my aspirations. I have access to networking events and have made contacts that will help me to achieve my career goals. I attended the campus career fair but I was also able to travel to an event in London.
Do you have any noteworthy achievements from your study at the Business School that you can tell us about?
I was awarded a Chevening Scholarship which provided me with the greatest opportunity to not only study a Masters degree at the University of Leeds, but also gave me the chance to network with students and professionals. The scholarship allowed me to focus on developing my skills to reach my full potential academically and professionally. I am grateful for the continuous support I receive from Leeds University Business School and Chevening.
What is your impression/experience of the facilities, the staff, your peers, the student union, the City of Leeds and the Yorkshire region?
The staff are so easy to reach, they are friendly and ready to help. It is so easy for me to arrange a meeting with my professors to get personal feedback about my development. The library’s staff are always ready to help in different ways, through providing training sessions to improve the student’s skills and one to one sessions to provide individual feedback.
People in Leeds are extremely nice and welcoming and it is easy to make local and international friends. There are lots of events taking place in Leeds in which I enjoyed, such as the Christmas market, Leeds Light Night and Bonfire night.
What would you say your defining memory of studying here was? (eg friendships made, confidence in your abilities, or any single event that you will always remember?)
I am very happy with the friendships I made with local and international students and the knowledge I gained, I can say that I am more confident in the skills I gained. I made contacts whilst networking that will help me with my future goals.
Would you recommend the Business School to others who are considering studying here?
