Oluwatoyin studied MSc Information Systems and Information Management, graduating in 2019. The course has been renamed MSc Digital Information Management and Systems Innovation.

How did you hear about the Business School and why did you choose to study here?

I knew I wanted to study my Masters in the UK, I considered a couple of UK Business Schools. Firstly, I was very impressed with the rankings and awards of Leeds University Business School. Secondly, the range of courses offered meant I could chose to study a degree specifically in information management, which really appealed to me.

What is the best part of your studies? What are you enjoying the most?

The staff are so friendly and ever willing to help with any questions you might have. They have offered me a lot of support. The class size is not too big, so we all know each other. I am also a course representative for my course, which has allowed me to develop my leadership. I am enjoying being an impact to the success of people’s education.

I am really enjoying getting involved with the sport side too. Even though I am only in the ‘development team’ of the women basketball team, I still get to compete with other universities, which is a great opportunity to meet new people and improve myself.

What are your career aspirations? Do you think the experience and skills you will gain on your course will help you in your future career plans? In what way?

When I graduate, I would like to start as a Business Analyst, and then in about five years’ time I would be able to work as Senior Business Analyst – as a specialist.

Personally, I have a dream that I could one day be the founder of a sport academy of my own. With my background, I could offer sports training facilities which would be very technologically driven.

What would you say your defining memory of studying here was? (eg friendships made, confidence in your abilities, or any single event that you will always remember?)

Studying here has opened a lot of doors. I’ve had so much support which has helped me to be more proactive and develop my communication and team working skills.

Would you recommend the Business School to others who are considering studying here?

Yes I definitely would, everybody is so nice and friendly, and I have come a long way towards achieving my goals.
