Why did you decide to study for an MBA?

Studying for a course related to business and management requires a certain determination and strength of character. In recent years, the business world has become rapidly integrated across once restricted borders, and anyone with high goals in business and management must have an international perspective and be aware of the realities of different international arenas.

The Master of Business Administration at Leeds addressed the next step in my professional journey. To take up core roles in management and strategy consulting I needed to gain fundamental knowledge of management and business strategies. Hence, an MBA was in perfect sync with my targeted goals and desired learning objectives.

What were your reasons for choosing Leeds University Business School?

They say, “to learn the tips and tricks of the trade, learn it from the master himself”. When I heard of the Leeds MBA, I knew that I wanted to be part of the cohort and gain the skills required to stand out in the crowd. As the cohort attracts students from all over the world, and different cultures and ideologies, the learning environment allowed me to develop a cross-cultural business mindset and grow professionally.

The Leeds MBA addressed the next step in my professional development. I have been able to network and gain multi-faceted skills and holistic business acumen.  The New Venture and Consulting challenge, which is a compulsory part of the academic curriculum, helped me to put all my theoretical learnings to the test.

What is the best part of your studies? What are you enjoying the most?

The small cohort is an added advantage. For me, it's been a family away from home. I have always enjoyed the group discussions and debates we have had during our course. Since there are students from various sectors and experience, it's been an absolutely amazing experience to learn about different things and hear perspectives beyond my thinking capabilities. The proactiveness and passion of the faculty requires a special mention too.

Have you taken part in any additional activities (international study tours, social events, student led clubs)? What are the key highlights?

I have been fortunate enough to be a part of the International MBA study tour 2022 to Audencia Business School. I was one of the participants in the ‘Sustainability’ track. Embedding small sustainable measures in our day to day lives can certainly create a huge tangible impact was the message that I took away with me from the tour. The industry visits during the tour also helped me understand how big organizations are taking giant strides towards a "sustainable economy".

I am also a winner of the National Economic Paper Case Competition which aimed at promoting inclusive economic development through policy interventions.

What would you say is your defining memory of studying here is?

I shall always cherish the bonds and friendships made during my time at Leeds. The curriculum has helped in nurturing my personality as well.

What was your previous role and organisation before studying for an MBA?

I was working as a Consultant at Mott MacDonald Pvt. Ltd.

What is your impression/experience of the facilities, the staff, your peers, the City of Leeds and the region itself?

The University facilities and faculty are nothing less than world class. Leeds is a vibrant and bustling student city. It will certainly not disappoint anyone choosing to study here for sure.
