Tell us about your degree - why did you choose it? What elements of the degree inspired you to study it?
I believe that the coronavirus pandemic exemplified the need for more sustainable and innovative supply chain solutions. Naturally, I recognised this as a chance to develop specialist expertise through undertaking a Master's degree in Global Supply Chain Management. Indeed, this postgraduate degree represented a compelling opportunity to differentiate upon my existing knowledge whilst gaining valuable skills to contribute to a prospective supply chain career.

What was the best part of your studies here? What did you enjoy the most?
In particular, I enjoyed the opportunity to contribute to a prominent research gap through undertaking my dissertation project - 'How can the application of blockchain technology drive sustainability-oriented practices within dynamic global fashion supply chains?'. Furthermore, I'd like to highlight the unique diverse nature of the Leeds University Business School, this enabled me to collaborate and gain positive relationships with individuals from across the world providing me with valuable insight into a range of cultures.

What were your career aspirations when you arrived? Do you think the experience and skills you gained here will help/helped you in your future career plans? In what way?
Initially, I was looking to explore graduate supply chain and consulting opportunities. The skills, expertise, and achievements attained across my degree programme have indeed contributed to my employability, positioning me well for further progression in the future.

How has your career progressed since leaving the Business School? Have there been any notable highlights?
Since graduating from the Leeds University Business School, I have secured a graduate supply chain opportunity at one of the UK's largest supermarket chains, working on the biggest retail transformation project the UK has ever known.

Where are you currently working, and what is your role?
I'm currently working at Asda as a Digital Supply Chain Analyst.

What are your ambitions for the future?
To become an Executive/Leader within a Supply Chain or Broader Commercial environment.

Do you think your experience and skills gained here will help you in your future career plans? In what way?
The skills and experiences gained at the Leeds University Business School have provided me with a solid foundation, preparing me for my current role. I'm confident that the transferable skills will allow me to advance into more senior roles in the future.

What was your impression/experience of the facilities, the staff, your peers, the student union, the City of Leeds and the region itself? What would you recommend to future students?
The Leeds University Business School offers state-of-the-art facilities. I enjoyed studying at such a prestigious and historical establishment and remain grateful to have collaborated with such a diverse range of individuals. I would recommend students take advantage of the incredible library facilities available on campus.

What would you say is your defining memory of studying here? (eg friendships made, confidence in your abilities, or any single event that you will always remember?) And would you recommend the Business School to others?
Achieving a Distinction in MSc Global Supply Chain Management represented a significant moment for me. This has provided me with the confidence to always strive for excellence. I encourage others to challenge themselves and undertake a Master's degree at the Leeds University Business School.
