How did you hear about the Business School and why did you choose to study here?
My friend, who was an alumnus here, told me about Leeds University Business School and his experiences in Leeds. I researched more on the website and the advanced modules in banking really appealed to me.
What is the best part of your studies? What are you enjoying the most?
I enjoy the course because it balances between advanced financial theories and the latest best practices in the field. The lecturers are enthusiastic experts in their fields, so I get to learn and be inspired by them. In addition, the seminars are very practical and have enhanced my understanding of the subject greatly.
What are your career aspirations? Do you think the experience and skills you will gain on your course will help you in your future career plans? In what way?
I aim to continue working in the financial service industry. There are so many opportunities in banking, investments and consulting. The skills and knowledge that I gain in the course will help me stand out in front of the employers, and give me a competitive advantage on the job.
What is your impression/experience of the facilities, the staff, your peers, the student union, the City of Leeds and the Yorkshire region?
Leeds is a very peaceful and easy-going city. People here are very polite, helpful and friendly. Support is always available for students, and we have lots of opportunities to develop as professionals.
What would you say your defining memory of studying here was? (eg friendships made, confidence in your abilities, or any single event that you will always remember?)
My most memorable event was the Trading simulation by Citibank. We got the chance to simulate being traders and see what it’s like to work on the floor of the modern global financial markets. This event inspired me further on my chosen field of financial markets.
