How did you hear about the Business School and why did you choose to study here?

I heard about Leeds University Business School from a friend of mine who was a part of the Leeds University Business School community the previous year. I chose the Business School because of the variety of courses it provides, including a bespoke MSc Finance and Investment course, and also because of its location. Upon receiving an offer for MSc Finance and Investment I was also awarded a 50% scholarship, which confirmed my decision that Leeds is the right place for me.

What is the best part of your studies? What are you enjoying the most?

I am enjoying making new friends who are a part of various different cultures. I’m learning so much about different countries and their financial systems, which makes me aware and more curious at the same time.

What are your career aspirations? Do you think the experience and skills you will gain on your course will help you in your future career plans? In what way?

I want to work in the corporate environment as an advisor or a consultant. The modules in this subject are already preparing me for the real world and the simulation exercises make it even better! Our personal tutor meetings are informative and helpful. Our tutors guide us towards our career and makes sure we stay on the right track.

Do you have any noteworthy achievements from your study at the Business School that you can tell us about g prizes, highest scores etc?

I was granted a 50% scholarship, which assisted my transition to the UK. Once I arrived, I also became aware of many opportunities at the Business School including paid and voluntary work, such as my positions as School Representative (PGT) for the Accounting and Finance division and also Student Ambassador (events/marketing).

I was honoured and proud to have these opportunities and I still am. I think any individual who comes to this university will have lots of opportunities to develop themselves. Just grab them on time and don’t let them go that easily! With hard work, you will succeed.

What would you say your defining memory of studying here was? (eg friendships made, confidence in your abilities, or any single event that you will always remember?)

I’ll always remember the people whom I met here, the events that I was a part of and the achievements that I will carry back to India very proudly!
