How did you hear about the Business School and why did you choose to study here?
I studied at the University of Leeds for my undergraduate and had already heard about Leeds University Business School's fantastic reputation. I chose to specialise in Economics and wanted to benefit from studying at a Business School, and develop my employability.
What is the best part of your studies? What are you enjoying the most?
I have really enjoyed the extra-curricular activities that are offered. I have made a lot of friends both from my course and from other networking events. I really enjoy Leeds as a city, I was delighted to stay for another year, as there is always something going on for everybody and you really feel a part of the student community.
What are your career aspirations? Do you think the experience and skills you will gain on your course will help you in your future career plans? In what way?
I would like to be an Economist and that fits well with the course I have chosen. The modules are fit around professional work with a lot of lab/ practical sessions as opposed to solely academic which I think is really important as it provides us with the practical skills needed in the industry as opposed to just writing essays and sitting exams.
Do you have any noteworthy achievements from your study at the Business School that you can tell us about?
For me my greatest achievement has been my progress on the module, I came from a non-technical background with very little maths practice and the course is demanding in that respect. My tutors have always been there for support and I have utilised that to the full. I passed all of my exams and coursework which I would not have been able to do alone and that I see as a great achievement.
Would you recommend the Business School to others who are considering studying here?
I would definitely recommend the Business School, they have the perfect balance of being extremely useful but not too overbearing. There are always events on whether that be career events or social events but they do not bombard you. It’s a great community to be in and I really feel like they have your best interests at heart.
