Dr Helen Hughes discusses the importance of a good workspace

Dr Helen Hughes spoke on BBC Radio Scotland regarding the benefits of having the right workspace, particularly when working from home, to improve mental health and productivity.

At the start of the pandemic, many companies scrambled to put together a suitable home workspace for employees, and after two years those same businesses are repurposing office space left empty by a remote workforce.

Finding the right balance of creating an appealing workplace to draw in and retain new talent whilst maintaining a suitable working environment is the new challenge being faced by employers.

Organisations are now grappling with the issue of ‘if we want to attract the best talent, and keep people, how do we do that? How do we make the office a draw? How do we make it somewhere people want to be? It needs to be seen as mutually beneficial.
