India alumni explore smart cities and finance for developing nations

Professor Gary Dymski, Professor of Applied Economics, Leeds University Business School hosted our recent alumni event tour of India in March 2019.

Professor Gary Dymski began his tour in Mumbai, where he spoke about ‘Smart Cities: Defining the city of the future’ and encouraged discussions on the past, present, and future of smart city thinking, and set out both the possibilities for transformation and the unsolved problems we face.

Whilst in Bangalore and New Delhi, Gary explored ‘The crisis of international finance for developing nations’, and the choices for developing nations within an evolving financial global system. There was good dialogue in all the cities about the issues raised and prospects for the future.

The workshops were followed by networking and refreshments. It was a great opportunity for alumni, prospective students and local business leaders (British Business Group) to connect and hear about the latest news from the Business School and University of Leeds.

“It was exciting to see that LUBS alumni from different programmes and graduation years are advancing in their careers and are fully engaged with the issues of the day.” Professor Gary Dymski.
