Launch of the Early Years Employment Research Hub
Members of the Centre for Employment Relations, Innovation and Change (CERIC) have launched “the Early Years Employment Research Hub”.
The Hub is a membership-based consortium made up of people with an interest in workforce issues and employment in the early years (group based and home based) sector.
The Early Years Employment (EYE) Research Hub includes policymakers, early years providers and professional associations, and researchers.
Professor Kate Hardy from CERIC comments: “The aim of the EYE Hub is to support the development of research and evidence-based policy, and tackle the workforce challenges faced in this area. This will be done through connecting and proactively developing long-term partnerships between people and organisations from a wide range of perspectives.”
Dr Xanthe Whittaker continues: “We have created the Hub to help bring people together to create opportunities for coordination and collaboration on research into Early Years employment and to provide networks and resources. The Hub will provide members with access to state-of-the-art data and data analysis, as well as providing a platform to facilitate knowledge exchange.”
The EYE Research Hub is also a sponsor of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Early Education and Childcare.
The Hub was officially launched by the University of Leeds team on 30 November at Bedford Square in London. The event was attended by members from the Early Years sector, business bodies, and researchers.
