Sean McAllister's hit documentary 'A Northern Soul' is being screened in the Riley Smith Theatre at Leeds University Union
Following 2015’s Doc/Fest Grand Jury Winner A Syrian Love Story, Sean McAllister returns to his hometown, Hull, as curator of its UK City of Culture opening. Back living with his 90-year-old parents and reflecting on changes to a city hit by cuts in public spending and divided by Brexit, Sean is drawn to the fringes of town where he encounters Steve – a struggling warehouse worker with a dream.
The Centre for Employment Relations Innovation and Change (CERIC) at Leeds University Business School is very pleased to support this event. Tickets are free but, if you feel able, the suggested donation per ticket is £5 to the Hull Beats Bus. You can pay via this link, or on the night.
Organised by Dr Jo Ingold, Dr Chris McLachlan and Dr Charles Umney.
