32 year old Hai graduated from the Leeds MBA programme in 2010. Originally from Vietnam, Hai was the Finance Manager at Unilever Vietnam, and since gaining his Leeds MBA he has become the Finance Director. Hai chose the Business School for his MBA because of its reputation for quality.

What were your reasons for choosing to do an MBA at Leeds University Business School?

I wanted to come to the UK to extend my knowledge base so that I could achieve further career advancement and be able to adapt in a multicultural environment such as Leeds. I liked Leeds’ reputation for quality (especially for research) and saw it as very reasonable value for money. The Business School’s location in the UK was another factor.

Overall how would you describe your Leeds MBA experience?

I would say that my MBA had a high adaptability and high heterogeneity over a topic due to different perspectives in class. I would also describe my experience of student life in Leeds as highly enjoyable.

What was your impression of the facilities, the staff, your peers, the City of Leeds and the region itself?

The lecturers and staff are all helpful and very customer-centric. I also used the services of the Global Employability Team who are very valuable as they help students expand their understanding of working life and expand their opportunities of profession.

Do you have any advice for students who are about to embark upon an MBA at Leeds?

I would say that if you properly plan every activity and strictly follow that plan then you will be fine. Also, be wary of the work piling up in late November and December! It is a lot of pressure, but if you keep your nerves then you will be fine and overcome those pressures. After that busy period, everything gets much better!

What would you say your defining memory of studying here was?

My time in Leeds was really memorable – it was simply a remarkable emergence of my life!
