What is the best part of your studies? What are you enjoying the most?

Definitely the discussions with my professors, which enabled me to critically analyse complex factors that influence the nature of employment law as well as the social and political context of legislation and its impact on HR practice.

Do you have any noteworthy achievements from your study at the Business School?

I was awarded an ‘Excellence Scholarship’ for demonstrating excellent professional and personal skills evidenced through my academic record and work experience. Realistically, without this scholarship, I wouldn’t have been able to afford to do a Masters, and none of my latter achievements would have been possible.

I have had the opportunity do a placement in the HR team at Cranswick plc, which is a leading and innovative British food supplier. I developed my practical HR skills, including assisting with investigations.

On the CIPD course, ‘Human Resource Management in Practice’, I was team leader of the winning team in the 2019 competition. We ran a fictitious company, undertaking a strategic review of our business, identifying the main HR challenges and designing strategies to address them. It was fantastic opportunity to utilise what we’ve learned thus far on the course.

Lastly, I was selected to participate in the Zurich Study Tour. I was delighted to have the chance to visit this vibrant European city and engage with a new cultural learning experience in the Faculty of Management at ZHAW, one of Switzerland’s leading Business Schools.

What would you say your defining memory of studying here was? (eg friendships made, confidence in your abilities, or any single event that you will always remember?)

By far meeting all the incredible students and staff on my course! Thanks to seminars, group work and presentations I was able to really bond with people from all over the world. I’ve actually learnt some greetings and phrases in Greek and Mandarin since my 2 best friends are from these countries and to speak in these languages always bring them so much joy!
