New documentary - "(No) Just Transition in the UK” - bringing research to the screen.
The Just Transition research team is committed to making their research accessible in different formats. As part of this commitment, their latest documentary - produced by Storycatchers and Leeds University Business School - focuses on the UK’s green transition, highlighting both an openness to change, and the necessity for policymakers to listen to the concerns of the 20 million-plus workers who will help deliver net zero, and to give them a voice to influence the shape of the green transition.
Whilst there is openness to this change, the legacies of the UK’s industrial past cast a long shadow on future changes, specifically, the devastation wrought on whole communities in the last industrial restructuring is a prominent cause for concern. There is hope, however. As the documentary shows, there are already examples of good green transition practice from across Europe that the UK could learn from.

The documentary is being showcased at the upcoming Labour Party Conference 2026 as part of a fringe event led by Climate Jobs UK.
