Learn more about the Help to Grow: Management Course, take part in an interactive taster activity, meet alumni, and learn about their experiences on the course and the impact it has had on their business.

During the session, you'll take part in a practical exercise based on a real framework used on the Help to Grow course. Working alongside fellow business leaders, you'll gain valuable insights, share experiences, and leave with tangible actions and ideas you can apply to your own business.

What is the Help to Grow: Management Course?

Help to Grow is 90% funded by the government and is open to senior leaders in small and medium businesses from any sector who:

• have been operating for more than 1 year
• have between 5 to 249 employees
• due to government eligibility criteria, charities are not eligible for this programme

This 12-week programme is delivered by Leeds University Business School and accredited by the Small Business Charter. The programme combines a practical curriculum, with 1:1 support from a business mentor, peer-learning sessions and an alumni network.

Designed to be manageable alongside full-time work, this programme will support you to develop your strategic skills with key modules covering financial management, innovation and digital adoption. By the end of the programme, you will develop a tailored business growth plan to lead your business to its full potential.

Meet our Expert and Taster Facilitator

Rebecca Padgett, Associate Professor, Leeds University Business School

Rebecca Padgett is an energetic, learner-focused educator dedicated to uniting, equipping and inspiring current and future leaders. Her work bridges the gap between academia and industry, with a focus on enterprise, innovation and growth, employability, and experiential learning.

With extensive experience leading undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education, Rebecca has overseen programmes ranging from small specialist modules to large, multi-campus cohorts. She was one of only two academics globally selected to deliver leadership training for the FIFA World Cup 2021 and served as Academic Programme Director for the £3 million WYCA Innovative Entrepreneurs Programme.

Before academia, Rebecca held senior consultancy roles across the sports, leisure and hospitality sectors, operating at board and ministerial levels. She is known for her collaborative, results-driven leadership style – and for bringing energy, purpose and a sense of fun to every challenge.
