Dimitrios Georgakakis is a Professor of International Business at the Department of International Business, Leeds University Business School, University of Leeds and the Director of the Centre for International Business at the University of Leeds (CIBUL). He is also an Associate Editor at the Journal of Management Studies, and an Editor Oversight of JMS-Says. In the past, he has held professorial positions at the University of York (UK) and the University of St Gallen (Switzerland) and was a visiting scholar at Texas A&M University (USA). In 2014, he graduated with a PhD (summa cum laude) from the University of St. Gallen – Research Institute for International Management. His research interests include the micro-foundational roles of international strategic leaders in MNEs, the effects of board and top management team diversity on international organizations, and the impact of executives’ dynamic international managerial capabilities on foreign market entry, regional versus global strategy, international innovation and MNE social and financial performance. His research has been published in several academic outlets, including Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Research Policy, Journal of World Business, Leadership Quarterly, Academy of Management Discoveries, and Long Range Planning. He has received awards from various academic organizations including the Academy of International Business, the Academy of Management, the Strategic Management Society, Emerald Publishing, and the European Academy of Management. In 2018, Dimitrios received the reputable Latsis Prize which named him among the five Latsis Prize Laurates in Switzerland across scientific disciplines. He serves at the editorial review board of the Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Business Venturing, Long Range Planning, and Corporate Governance: An International Review. He has acted as a guest editor of several special issues in top tier journals, such as the Journal of Management Studies, Corporate Governance: An International Review, and Long Range Planning. Dimitrios holds experience at the interface with the industry and has worked on research and impact projects with several large international organisations.
