Dimitrios Georgakakis is a Professor of International Business at the University of Leeds, Department of International Business. In the past, he has held positions at the University of York (UK) and the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) and was a visiting scholar at Texas A&M University (USA). He graduated with a PhD (summa cum laude) from the University of St. Gallen – Research Institute for International Management. His research interests include the micro-foundational roles of strategic leaders in MNEs, the effects of board and top management team diversity on international organizations, the CEO-Top Management interface, and the impact of executives’ dynamic international managerial capabilities on innovation, foreign market entry, regional versus global strategy and MNE social and financial performance. His research has been published in several academic outlets, including Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, Leadership Quarterly, Academy of Management Discoveries, and Long Range Planning. He has received awards from various academic organizations including the Academy of International Business, the Academy of Management, the Strategic Management Society, Emerald Publishing, the European Academy of Management and the Latsis Foundation. Dimitrios serves at the editorial review board of the Journal of Management Studies and Corporate Governance: An International Review. He holds experience at the interface with the industry and has worked on research and impact projects with several large international organizations.
