Farjana Yeasmin Chowdhury is a PhD researcher in International Business at the Department of International Business, Leeds University Business School (LUBS), University of Leeds, United Kingdom. She has been awarded the Department of International Business PhD Scholarship for the 2025/26 academic session to pursue her doctoral studies. Her doctoral research focuses on how strategic leadership influences sustainability in cross-cultural contexts.

Farjana holds an MSc in Accounting and Finance with Distinction from Leeds Beckett University, having completed the programme in the 2023–2024 academic year. She was also awarded the Dean's Prize for outstanding academic performance. Before this, she obtained both her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh — one of the region’s leading institutions.

Before pursuing her PhD, Farjana gained over 5 years of academic experience, having worked as a Lecturer and Assistant Professor at Sonargaon University in Bangladesh. She also gained practical experience at HSBC Bank Plc in Leeds, where she developed knowledge of UK financial services compliance and operations. Additionally, Farjana served as a Teaching Assistant in various schools in Leeds.

Research interests

Farjana's research interests are centred on International Business, with a specific focus on Strategic Leadership, Board Gender Diversity, Sustainability, and Multinational Enterprises (MNEs).
