Profile
I am a Lecturer / Assistant Professor of Finance in the Accounting and Finance Department at the University of Leeds. I received my PhD degree in Finance from the University of Piraeus.
My research interests include corporate finance, financing policy, capital structure, and earnings management. My work has been presented at major international conferences and prestigious universities and has been published in internationally leading journals on finance.
Prior to joining Leeds University Business School, I worked as an Adjunct Lecturer in Finance at the Athens University of Economics and Business in Greece. I have also lectured on corporate finance, financial management, international finance and banking in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University of Piraeus and the Technological Education Institute of Piraeus.
I have also worked at the Division of Research & Forecasting of Eurobank EFG, one of the largest commercial banks in Greece. I conducted analysis, research and forecasting on the US, Eurozone and BRIC economies and financial markets, published in the bank's economic bulletins "Global Economic & Market Outlook" and "Economy and Markets".
I am also a Member of the Governing Board and Treasurer of the non-profit organization "Asclepiades". The aim of "Asclepiades" is to raise funds to support activities pertaining to the preservation of the Ancient Theatre and the other monuments in the Sanctuary of Asklepios at Epidaurus, in Greece.

Research interests
My research interests lie in the field of corporate finance. In my research, I have devoted particular attention to capital structure and especially to the influence of financial development and financial integration on corporate capital structure, and to the impact of managers' expectations on the financing policy of firms.
