India alumni events spark sustainable conversations
Alumni came together in three major cities across India - New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore from the 15 – 17 March 2024 for a series of engaging events which focused upon sustainability.
Andrea Denny, Professional Development Tutor at Leeds University Business School hosted the events which explored the Business School’s sustainability initiatives and the ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability into education, research, partnerships, and organisational practices. Andrea discussed the implementation of the Business School's sustainability goals through the Blueprint, a flagship sustainability engagement process designed to support faculties in achieving both their individual and the wider University's sustainability objectives.
During the events, Andrea shared valuable insights on sustainability and the importance of individual and collaborative action in fostering a sustainable future. Alumni were inspired to develop their own ways to integrate sustainable principles and goals within their own organisations and networks. The vibrant discussions during the sessions reflected alumni’s interest and commitment to sustainability. They shared insights, experiences and ideas, fostering a collaborative environment aimed at driving positive change for future generations.
The events provided a platform for alumni to reconnect and forge new connections in a relaxed atmosphere. Networking accompanied by refreshments offered alumni the chance to foster and develop meaningful relationships.
Reflecting on the event's success, Andrea expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to host the events and highlighted the warmth and affection alumni displayed towards their time at Leeds: “It was fantastic to connect with our alumni and offer holders in India and inspiring to learn more about the wide-ranging sustainability initiatives they are undertaking within their professional and personal lives. It was also exciting to kickstart discussions around future collaboration – within the alumni groups and with the Business School, to progress shared sustainability goals”.
Throughout the tour, alumni demonstrated a keen interest in sustainability and its role in shaping the future of business and society. The enthusiasm displayed by alumni in India reflects a shared dedication to driving positive change and advancing sustainability goals on a global scale.
