Business School achieves 5-year AMBA accreditation

Leeds University Business School has confirmed its position as a top international business school by retaining its five-year AMBA re-accreditation, issued by the Association of MBAs (AMBA).

The Association of MBAs is the impartial authority on postgraduate management education, currently accrediting programmes for business schools in over 70 countries for the benefit of business schools, students, alumni and employers.

The reaccreditation is a welcome accolade at a time when the School has just launched its new strategy, underpinned by the culture and values shared with the University – Collaboration, Compassion, Inclusivity and Integrity.

Executive Dean, Professor Julia Bennell said:

I am delighted that the School has achieved AMBA accreditation for a further five years. This recognition confirms our commitment to providing high quality post experience programmes; an area we have high ambition to grow.

The accreditation panel was particularly impressed by the students and alumni they met, who were complimentary of the careers and alumni activities provided by the School. They also described the newly developed online carbon literacy training for students and staff as ‘an innovative example of the School truly living its values around sustainability.’

Leeds University Business School holds triple crown accreditation and performed well in the last REF (2021) with 90% of the School’s research submissions “world-leading” or “excellent.” The QS Global MBA Rankings 2023 ranked the Leeds MBA 12th in the UK and joint 37th in Europe. The School enrols almost 5,000 students and delivers programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels as well as executive education courses.

The School is also accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and holds five-year accreditation status from the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). Leeds is one of a small number of schools worldwide to be triple accredited by the three leading bodies.
