Green growth and social inclusion: Possibilities and challenges for the Brazilian economy

This is an event in the Leeds Economic Seminar series taking place on Wednesday 24 January 2018

Professor Carlos Eduardo Frickmann Young
Institute of Economics
Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ)

This seminar presents the results of a study setting out the main arguments in favor of a transition towards a green economy in Brazil, emphasizing the potential benefits at the three required levels: economic, social and environmental. The main point is to present the green economy as a possible path for economic development where social inclusion and environmental conservation act as engines (rather than obstacles) for higher levels of activity and welfare.

A light lunch will be available for participants in the seminar
