Join us for an exciting afternoon with Netra Sridhar (MA Advertising and Marketing, 2024) as she returns to campus to share insights from her career journey and take part in an interactive Q&A session.

During the session, Netra will share insights from her time at Leeds University Business School, how she gained experience alongside her studies, and her journey navigating the graduate job market. She’ll offer practical tips that helped her secure opportunities, explain why she chose to work in a start-up environment, and highlight the benefits of working at a start-up/SME - including hands-on experience, rapid career development, and wider growth opportunities - drawing on her current role at Sensational Ventures.

This relaxed event is a great opportunity to gain practical insights, ask questions, and learn how to make the most of your time at university while preparing for life after graduation.

About Netra

Netra Sridhar moved from Mumbai to Leeds in 2023 to pursue a Master’s in Advertising and Marketing at the University of Leeds - a decision that became a defining chapter in both her personal and professional life. Immersing herself in a new culture and academic environment pushed her beyond her comfort zone, while practice-led modules helped shape her strategic and creative approach to marketing.

Alongside her studies, Netra worked part-time managing social media for several restaurants across Leeds, leading on content creation, strategy, filming, editing, and publishing. Before graduating in November 2024, she secured her first full-time role as a Marketing Executive at an FMCG startup in York (Sensational Ventures), where she now works as a Senior Marketing Executive.

In addition to her full-time role, Netra continues to freelance on weekends and creates fun, engaging content on her own Instagram page. Beyond career growth, the community she built at Leeds played a vital role in her journey—fostering collaboration, resilience, and a strong appreciation for diversity that continues to influence her work today.
