Profile
Dr Arianna Buratto is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Leeds University Business School. She is a contributor to the Centre for Decision Research and collaborates with the Met Office on her current research.
After completing a bachelor’s degree in economics, she specialised in cognitive and decision sciences, investigating the impact of social feedback on decision-making for her master’s dissertation. She later researched how behavioural sciences can be applied to encourage more sustainable food consumption choices as part of her doctoral thesis. The results of this research were presented to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
Arianna has experience collaborating with both the private and the public sectors. Her work with London-based restaurants, for example, was focused on communication strategies to increase the sales of vegetarian and plant-based dishes. Her work with Westminster City Council included projects on recycling, litter prevention and food waste reduction.
