Research interests

Jiayi’s research interests include empirical corporate finance and corporate governance, with a particular focus on topics related to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), such as climate change, pay inequality, corporate philanthropy, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her research has been accepted for presentation at leading international conferences such as the American Finance Association (AFA) Annual Meeting, the China International Conference in Finance (CICF), and the Financial Management Association (FMA), among others.

Jiayi’s research strives to bridge the traditional gap between corporate decision-making and the pursuit of sustainable development goals, empowering the accountancy and finance sector to become a driving force for sustainable economic growth and social progress. She aims to enhance stakeholder understanding of how financial policies and corporate strategies can effectively address critical ESG challenges—mitigating the adverse impacts of corporate activities on climate change, tackling inequality, and advancing diversity and inclusion within organisational contexts. At the core of her work is a multifaceted exploration of the intersection between corporate finance and broader social and environmental objectives.
