Profile
Dr Lu Qiao joined the University of Leeds as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Accounting and Finance in October 2023. Lu obtained her PhD degree in accounting from the University of Nottingham in 2022.
Lu’s research interests include financial reporting quality, corporate governance, ESG, and managerial characteristics. Lu has published her research papers in several international peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, the International Review of Financial Analysis, the Accounting Forum, and the Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting.
Lu is a reviewer for many international peer-reviewed journals in accounting, business, and finance, including the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, the Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, the Journal of International Financial Management & Accounting, Business Ethics, the Environment and Responsibility, and the Journal of Financial Reporting and Accounting.
Before joining Leeds, Lu worked as a lecturer (assistant professor) in accounting and finance at the University of Leicester and as a visiting lecturer at the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University. Lu became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in July 2022. Lu was the only PhD student to win the teaching prize at Nottingham University Business School in 2022.
