Profile
Maren is a postgraduate researcher at Leeds University Business School, researching cross-cultural consumer responses to innovative technology. Her research is supported by the LUBS Marketing Division Scholarship. She holds an undergraduate degree in Politics and Economics from the University of Muenster (Germany) and a master’s degree in Advertising and Marketing from the University of Leeds, both funded by scholarships from the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation.
Her research has been presented at the annual conferences of the Association for Consumer Research and the European Marketing Academy. She has also been selected to present at several doctoral symposia, including the EMAC Doctoral Colloquium, the AMA Global SIG Doctoral Consortium, and the Nothern Euorpean Consumer Research Symposium. Her research was awarded the Best Paper Award at the LUBS Doctoral Conference (Leeds, 2025) and at the ACE Conference and Doctoral Symposium (Xiamen, 2025).
Maren is a research assistant at the Leeds University Business School Behavioral Lab and has been a teaching assistant across both undergraduate (Organisational Behaviour) and postgraduate (Business Analytics and Decision Sciences Dissertation) modules. Before joining LUBS, Maren spent three years as a research assistant for an MP in the German Parliament and two years working for a marketing agency.
Research interests
- Ideology and Belief Systems: with a focus on how cultural and religious values and political orientation influence decision-making, preferences, and interactions in the marketplace
- Psychology of Technology: with a focus on how individual engage with and form relationships with technology
