Anas Khitou is a PhD researcher at the University of Leeds Business School, Management Department, beginning his studies in 2024. He holds an MSc in Digital Information Management and Systems Innovation from the University of Leeds, where he was awarded Best Student and Best Mentor. His MSc thesis, titled "How Blockchain Increases Horizontal Collaboration Among Humanitarian Actors," reflects his strong interest in the intersection of technology and humanitarian work.

Anas has over a decade of experience in the humanitarian and technology sectors, with a focus on interoperability and collaboration among humanitarian actors. His PhD research seeks to explore the dimensions of interoperability within the humanitarian sector, aiming to contribute to the development of comprehensive frameworks that address collaboration challenges in diverse humanitarian settings. He is a member of the AimTech Research Center, where he combines his technical expertise with research to address real-world problems in humanitarian contexts.

In addition to his academic work, Anas is the co-founder and Product Manager at GeniusTags, a company that develops innovative technological solutions for humanitarian actors. He has led multiple projects, including blockchain-based initiatives and AI-driven humanitarian intelligence (HI) applications. His professional background also includes roles in program management and IT infrastructure, with significant experience in project development, strategic planning, and data analysis.

Anas is also interested in how digital transformation and technology adoption can reshape humanitarian operations, improving decision-making and resource management. He continues to investigate the potential of AI and blockchain technologies in advancing humanitarian responses, particularly in challenging environments.
