Chen Yao

Profile

I studied at Southwest Jiatong University from 2015 to 2019, graduating with a major in Transportation. Following on from my bachelor’s degree I came to the University of Leeds where I got my master’s degree, majoring in Global Supply Chain Management. I started my PhD program in October 2021.

In 2020 I worked on revising China’s national standard “Plastics—Symbols and abbreviated terms”(part 1,2,3) which will be published in 2022. I have also worked on transferring China’s national standard “Plastics-Recycled Plastics-Part 5:Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) material” into the international standard.

Research interests

I am interested in sustainable supply chain, circular economy in fashion industry, recycling process of old clothing and plastics, reverse supply chain and applying blockchain technology to recycling process.
