Business Analytics alumni share their careers advice

Leeds University Business School was delighted to welcome back three alumni from MSc Business Analytics and Decision Science to take part in a panel discussion on careers in analytics.

In March 2023, Divya Selva Prabhu (2022), Mojtaba Mozaffari fard (2022), and Philip Kalinda (2015) all joined current MSc Business Analytics and Decision Science students in the Maurice Keyworth Lecture theatre for a discussion around careers in data analytics and data science.

During the panel, they shared their experience about their current careers in the area of data analytics and data science, including their day-in-the-life and advice for current students as they prepare themselves for the next stage of their professional development. 

Students also had an opportunity to ask questions about the different types of roles and employers currently active in the market. 

The event was organised by Alan Choicharoon, Lecturer in business analytics at Leeds University Business School and the Alumni Relations Team.

• Philip (MSc Business Analytics and Decision Science 2015) is a Data Scientist at PlayStation.
• Divya (MSc Business Analytics and Decision Science 2022) currently works as a Data Analytics Coordinator for the Leeds University Union as well as acting as a mentor for the Leeds Women in Leadership Society.
• Mojtaba (MSc Business Analytics and Decision Science 2022) currently works as a Data Analyst for Virgin Media O2.
