World Subject Rankings 2022 place Leeds 9th in UK
The Times Higher Education (THE) has announced its World Subject Rankings 2022. They placed the University of Leeds 9th in the UK and joint 65th globally for the subject of Business and Economics.
The Times Higher Education (THE) creates university rankings to assess university performance on the global stage. Earlier this month they announced their World Subject Rankings 2022. The University of Leeds has retained its global position of 65th for the subject of Business and Economics.
The rankings are based on an assessment of research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
Professor Edgar Meyer, Deputy-Dean for Leeds University Business School, commented:
“After a significant increase in our ranking position last year, we have managed to perform well again. A significant proportion of the assessment data is based on the reputation of our teaching and research amongst our peers in the global academic community, so it is particularly pleasing to know that Leeds is so well respected globally.”
I would like to offer a big thank you to our staff and students who have helped us build this international reputation.
For the 6th year in a row, the University of Leeds has seen an increase in its score for ‘international outlook’ with 91.7 out of 100. This score reflects the proportion of international students and staff, as well as international collaborations.
Professor Iain Clacher, Pro-Dean (International), believes this reflects the Business School’s historical and ongoing commitment to collaborations with international partners from around the world, including partners with well established and embedded relationships to new exciting partnerships from across the globe.
“These partnerships enhance our student experience and provide valuable opportunities for our academic staff to collaborate with leading scholars globally. We work hard to ensure our graduates have real global and cultural insight and are used to working as part of a diverse community.”
We offer a range of international opportunities, tours, projects, and study programmes to give them hands on experience.
“With over 200 academic staff from around the globe, we celebrate our diversity and benefit hugely from their international experience”.
