Nurturing Talent: Alumni return as Mentors
The Nurturing Talent Mentor Scheme hosted a panel event for students last week inviting six mentors who were previously students on the scheme to share their insights and experiences of mentoring.
The online Q&A panel featured six mentors, all graduates of the Business School and Nuturing Talent Mentor Scheme, and are working at Deutsche Bank, Johnson and Johnson, KPMG, PwC and JP Morgan.
The mentors each spoke about the opportunities they recieved whilst they were students at the Business School and how these had helped them get to where they are now. They also provided useful advice and guidance around applying for jobs and internships and then answered a range of questions the mentees had for them. Melissa Bintley, one of the mentors involved in the event commented:
I thoroughly enjoyed the event, and it was also great to hear what other graduate mentors are doing as well as share my experience with the students. I was impressed with how engaged they all were and the questions they asked. It’s great to be able to give back to a scheme which has given me so much.
