CEES recognised at the 2025 GCEC Awards

The Centre for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Studies (CEES) has been highly commended at the 2025 Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centres (GCEC) Awards.

Leeds University Centre for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Studies (CEES) has been highly commended in the Exceptional Activities in Entrepreneurship Across Disciplines category at the 2025 Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centres (GCEC) Awards. The announcement was made at the GCEC flagship conference in Calgary, Canada, on 8 October.

CEES is a centre within the Management and Organisations Department at the Business School, serving as the main hub for enterprise education and research on campus. It is part of the Enterprise at Leeds initiative and contributed to earning the GOLD standard from the Small Business Charter in 2014. The award, as stated by Dr Richard Tunstall, Academic Director of Enterprise at Leeds, “celebrates CEES’s pioneering work in embedding enterprise education across student education across all faculties and collaboration with Spark student startup support, HELIX innovation space, and LUBS Small Business Hub in fostering inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems that have an impact both within the University community, and into our wider region.”

Dr Richard Tunstall further comments:

This recognition reflects our commitment to inclusive, interdisciplinary enterprise education and our mission to empower students, entrepreneurs, and communities to create meaningful economic and social impact through their relationship with the University of Leeds.

The Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centres is the international network through which established and emerging university-based entrepreneurship centres share information, develop programmes and initiatives,  and collaborate to advance and celebrate their impact. CEES’s commendation at the 2025 awards underscores the University’s continuing commitment to inclusive, interdisciplinary enterprise education and its contribution to the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
