Incoming Exchange Students Receive Warm Welcome from Leeds University Business School
On November 7th, the Welcome Event was hosted by Leeds University Business School to welcome exchange students participating in the study abroad programmes.
Leeds University Business School welcomed incoming study abroad students from 20 countries around the world through the Welcome Event hosted by the Business School Faculty International Office and Career Service. The event gave the incoming study abroad students the opportunity to connect with peer students, broaden their networks, and expand their knowledge of Business School services.
The Business School Pro-Dean International Iain Clacher, Faculty International Tutor Maria Hussian, and Deputy Employability and Placements Manager Chris Hoy gave speeches at the event to welcome students and introduce LUBS student services. The event was also supported by Departmental Director of International and Leeds University Business School Opportunity Team.
Hosted by Faculty International Manager Ellen Wang, the event engaged students from different perspectives by ice breaker activities, an informative quiz regarding the University of Leeds and the city of Leeds, and socialising opportunities over dinner. The top 3 winning teams of the quiz were rewarded with Business School gifts.
The Business School Pro-Dean International Iain Clacher commented about the event:
We are thrilled to host this special event as the first welcome event for incoming exchange students organised by the Business school. The event served as a testament to our commitment of bringing students together for a sense of belonging; fostering global connections and cross-cultural learning. Their journey starts here, and we look forward to supporting them every step of the way.
Leeds University Business School looks forward to hosting similar events in the future for incoming study abroad students to strengthen the student community and improve student experience in Leeds University Business School.
