Leeds University Business School partners with The Academy of Medical Sciences
This week saw the Business School welcome participants from The Academy of Medical Sciences Future Leaders in Innovation, Enterprise and Research (FLIER) programme.
The FLIER programme has been designed for senior leaders working in the life sciences sector. It aims to equip them with the skills needed to solve complex contemporary challenges and seize opportunities afforded by new discoveries in science, technology, and medicine.
Head of Executive Programmes at the Business School, Tone Vaduthala commented:
We are proud to partner with the Academy of Medical Sciences to support the FLIER programme. As a research intensive business school, impact that makes a difference to the economy, society and planet is at the heart of what we do. So we deeply value the opportunity to support these emerging leaders from academia, industry and the NHS in their journey to address some of the most complex health challenges our society faces.
We welcome the cohort back in January, to continue with their tailored training in financial management. This training will further equip the FLIERs with the knowledge and skills they need to manage money in a professional context, to ask intelligent questions about the finances of their institution and others and to begin commercialising their research, where appropriate.
