China and India research groups workshop

China and India Research Network: Identifying cross-disciplinary research opportunities.

** This meeting is for staff and PGRs across the university who are interested in developing cross-disciplinary research on India and/or China **

As a follow-up to the India and China research workshops held at University House on 28 September, V N Balasubramanyam (Baloo), Professor of Development Economics at Lancaster University has been invited to visit the University of Leeds and share his ideas on research agendas for India and China. We hope Baloo’s ideas will stimulate discussion about the big questions that offer opportunities for cross-disciplinary research.

After a joint morning session followed by a lunch break, we propose splitting into two separate groups (India and China) for further discussions, before reforming to wrap up and share ideas for future activity. Following an idea from the first workshop, we have created a Padlet wall (to act as a virtual post-it wall) for ideas that can feed into the day’s agenda. Please feel free to post your ideas here (best viewed with Google Chrome).

This workshop is for those interested in comparative and country-specific research objectives. It is also intended to cover topics relevant to China and India in the work of all University faculties.

All welcome
