Economics PhD talk
- Date: Thursday 30 January 2020, 18:00 – 19:15
- Location: Business School Maurice Keyworth SR (1.06)
- Cost: Free
Students and alumni interested in finding out about what a PhD in Economics entails, and where this path can lead, are invited to a talk by staff in the Economics Division.
This event will be of particular interest to students in Economics, but it is open to all. Academics / researchers in the Economics Division will discuss what makes a good research proposal for a PhD in Economics; provide an overview of the research journey from start to finish; and elaborate on what a career as an academic economist might entail.
A number of former MSc Economics / MSc Economics and Finance students - now at different stages of the PhD journey - will be available to offer their personal perspectives on this choice; discuss how they put together a successful PhD proposal; and explain more about how they applied for research funding.
Light refreshments will be served.
