Appointed Programme Director for BSc Accounting and Finance in 2019, Joanna also serves as the principal coordinator for accreditations with accountancy professional bodies including ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, and ICAS.

Joanna has extensive professional experience and a diverse range of research interests across both accountancy and pedagogy. Before joining LUBS, Joanna spent over eight years in practice and industry as an ACCA-qualified accountant specialising in auditing and financial reporting. Her accounting research focuses on earnings management, corporate governance, audit quality, auditor switch, ownership structure and ESG reporting. In the area of pedagogical research, her interests include the transition to HE, international student integration, assessment and feedback, and blended learning.

Joanna leads a range of modules across undergraduate and MBA programmes, specialising in accounting, taxation, and professional skills development.

A Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), Joanna brings a strong commitment to both professional practice and academic excellence.
