Leeds University Business School is holding a Trans awareness in Higher Education lunchtime session via Zoom for our staff, students and alumni.

This session provides a non-judgmental space to increase confidence and familiarity around trans identities and rights, and to learn how to create a positive experience for trans students and staff in higher education. We’ll cover the basics of trans identities and related terminology alongside practical aspects of trans inclusivity in HE. Attendees will have the chance to ask questions and discuss problems specific to their area of work, and there will also be an opportunity to ask anonymous questions.

Dr Kit Heyam (they/them or he/him) is a transgender awareness trainer, historian and activist. With seven years of experience in providing trans awareness training across the UK, they specialise in tailoring training sessions to the practical realities of working in higher education, and in helping staff to build confidence and familiarity around trans issues. As a historian and activist, they work to uncover queer and trans histories and make them visible to the public.
