PhD With Us: A Workshop on How to Prepare a PhD Proposal
We had the pleasure of organising "PhD With Us: A Workshop on How to Prepare a PhD Proposal" as part of TOSCA's capacity-building strategy.
During the workshop, we provided an overview of doctoral study, discussing the purpose and expectations of a PhD, as well as the range of scholarship opportunities available, both internally and externally.
Participants also heard insights from two of our current PhD researchers, who shared their experiences and perspectives on pursuing a PhD. This was followed by table discussions, where attendees had the opportunity to discuss their research ideas and receive feedback from academics and peers.
We also explored the key characteristics of a strong PhD proposal, followed by presentations on the role of theory and the use of quantitative and qualitative research methods in doctoral research.
We look forward to receiving high-quality proposals and welcoming future PhD researchers to TOSCA.
Special thanks to Chee Yew Wong, Xingjie Wei, Aleksandra Irnazarow, Anas Khitou, and Rui Feng for their excellent presentations/support.
