Failing to Learn, Learning to Fail: Are we allowed to fail in arts, cultural & heritage organisations?

Research and business experts acknowledge that failure leads to enhanced learning and ways to better develop the self and organisations. However, with the pressures of funding and meeting expectations of our stakeholders, can we fail? 

The rhetoric of funding and philanthropy programmes as well as the UK government, stresses the need for innovation and trying new and radical ideas to support arts, cultural and heritage; however, in order to do this type of innovation there is always an element of risk and failure.  So how can we be expected to always succeed?

Experts from across the sector will join Fellows of the Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy programme to discuss the notion of failure and how we can incorporate this in the learning and fundraising process to better our organisations and work.
