Tell us about your degree - why did you choose it? What elements of the degree inspired you to study it?
Growing up in an increasingly interconnected world, I was inspired by how international trade and collaboration can drive innovation, foster economic growth, and unite diverse communities.
What truly inspired me about this degree was its focus on both strategic and cultural aspects of business. Learning how companies navigate challenges like global competition, regulatory differences, and cultural diversity fascinated me
The degree not only deepened my understanding of international markets but also equipped me with critical skills like problem-solving, adaptability, and cultural awareness—key tools for thriving in a globalised economy.
What was the best part of your studies here? What did you enjoy the most about your course?
The Business School’s expertise and dedication to teaching made complex concepts in international business accessible and fascinating, particularly through real-world case studies and interactive discussions.
I especially enjoyed collaborating with peers from different cultural and professional backgrounds. This diversity enriched our group projects and class debates, offering unique perspectives on global business challenges and preparing me for a multicultural work environment.
Additionally, the modern facilities and resources, such as well-equipped study spaces and access to the latest industry databases, provided an excellent environment for learning and research.
Overall, it was the combination of these elements—supportive staff, engaging content, and inspiring peers—that made my experience truly rewarding.
What was your impression/experience of the student union, the city of Leeds and Yorkshire? Did you do any extracurricular activities during your studies? How did you enhance your personal development? What would you recommend to future students?
Serving as both a course rep and a school rep was an incredibly rewarding experience. It allowed me to actively contribute to improving the academic experience for my peers and act as a bridge between students and staff. Collaborating with the Student Union gave me valuable insight into how decisions are made and how student voices can shape policies and initiatives. It also enhanced my communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, as I worked to address concerns, propose solutions, and promote positive changes.
Leeds is a dynamic and student-friendly city, full of energy and opportunities. Its mix of cultural diversity, vibrant nightlife, and excellent food scene made it an exciting place to live and study. Yorkshire’s natural beauty added another dimension to my experience.
For future students, I recommend embracing diversity, prioritising balance, and exploring Leeds and Yorkshire.

The combination of academic knowledge, practical experience, and professional connections I gained at the Business School has been a cornerstone of my career success. It not only prepared me for immediate challenges but also equipped me with the adaptability and vision to grow in an ever-changing business landscape.
What are your ambitions for the future?
My ambitions for the future centre around continuous growth, meaningful impact, and leadership. Beyond my professional aspirations, I am committed to lifelong learning. I plan to pursue further education or certifications that enhance my knowledge and keep me at the forefront of industry trends.
What advice would you give to anyone looking to work in a similar role or industry to you?
Develop a strong foundation, cultivate soft skills, network actively and be adaptable.
How was the transition to living and studying in a different country? Did the university offer support or services that you found helpful? Can you offer any advice?
The transition to living and studying in a different country was both exciting and challenging. The University offered excellent support services that made this transition much smoother. For example: Orientation Programs, Academic Support, Student Services and Cultural Integration. My advice for any incoming student would be stay organised, seek support, and be open to new experiences.
What is your defining memory of studying here? Would you recommend the Business School to others?
The defining aspect of my experience was the friendships I made along the way. Collaborating with classmates from diverse backgrounds broadened my perspectives and deepened my appreciation for different cultures and ideas. These connections not only enriched my learning but have also evolved into lasting professional relationships.
With excellent world-class teaching, the Business School offers a well-rounded, globally focused education that equips students with both the technical knowledge and interpersonal skills needed to succeed in today’s business world.
